SkyForce GPS Tracking Helps Law Enforcement Recover Stolen Jeep Wrangler

A recent vehicle theft investigation in San Bernardino County highlighted the importance of reliable GPS tracking and how Star Shield Solutions' SkyForce GPS service can assist law enforcement in recovering stolen vehicles.

On October 19, 2026, the San Bernardino County Auto Theft Task Force (SANCATT) investigated the theft of a 2025 Jeep Wrangler. Working with Star Shield Solutions' support team, investigators obtained GPS location information that led them to a vehicle and storage facility in Bloomington, California.

What made this case particularly significant was that the Jeep's battery had been removed. The vehicle was equipped with an SFT RAS3 GPS unit, which features an independent battery power source. Despite the removal of the vehicle's battery, the unit continued reporting location information through SkyForce, providing investigators with a critical lead.

After reviewing surveillance footage and conducting further investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant and located the stolen Jeep concealed inside a storage unit. The investigation also resulted in an arrest.

Recognized by Law Enforcement

Following the recovery, Star Shield Solutions received a letter of appreciation from Lieutenant Commander A. F. Soriano of the San Bernardino County Auto Theft Task Force, recognizing the technology and the team's assistance.

"This case demonstrates the significant value of reliable GPS tracking technology in modern vehicle theft investigations. Technology capable of providing useful location information when conventional vehicle power has been disabled can give investigators an essential lead that may otherwise be difficult to obtain."

This case demonstrates the value of combining the SkyForce GPS tracking service with reliable, battery-powered hardware. With the SFT RAS3 unit continuing to report location information even after the vehicle's battery was removed, investigators were able to obtain the information needed to help recover the stolen Jeep.
